Beeston Shenton Team Up With Staffordshire University To Deliver A Series of Talks on the Impacts of Brexit.
Staffordshire University Law Department has joined forces with Beeston Shenton Solicitors to deliver a series of free talks designed to raise awareness of Brexit and its impact.
Starting in October ‘The Law Works’ series focuses on how Brexit could impact on the law and consequently all businesses and the wider community.
Paul Shenton, Director of Beeston Shenton, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Staffordshire University and our series allows us to connect with local business and support the advancement of law professionals of the future.”
“The talks revolve around the potential impact of Brexit upon the laws of Britain, British business, industry and education.”
The first event in the series ‘Brexit and Employment Law’ takes place at Staffordshire University’s Science Centre on Thursday 19 October and features keynote speaker Gaynor Beckett, Head of Employment Law at Beeston Shenton, alongside an expert discussion panel.
The talks follow on from a highly successful project between Beeston Shenton and the University earlier this year which saw 20 Law Students benefit from a weekly work placement at Beeston Shenton where they gained valuable experience and insight into the running and activities of a busy local law firm.
Ruby Hammer, Head of the Law Department, said: “We are excited to be taking forward this new way of working with a respected regional law firm. It provides a number of opportunities for working collaboratively across the region and community and places the student experience at the heart of this new venture.”
Future talks in the series include ‘Brexit and Trade Implications’ on 14 November 2017 and ‘Brexit and Family Law Implications’ on 26 February 2018 with a range of specialist keynote speakers from the legal profession.
