Dying Matters Week – An Important Topic To Discuss
This week marks the observance of Dying Matters Week, helping to raise awareness of dying, death and bereavement. It is a great opportunity to discuss the importance of answering the questions, “What Can You Do?” and “Are We Ready?” From considering wills to funeral planning, it’s the perfect time to sit down and think about you and your family’s future.
Ask yourself the following;
- Are we ready to discuss future plans?
- Are we ready to support someone who may be grieving?
- Are we ready to help those caring for someone who is dying?
- Are we ready to help get someone’s affairs in order after they have passed away?
You will never definitively feel like “nows the time to talk”, and it is often avoided by many, pushed to the back of your mind. But this week can really help you to support the community around you and discuss the plans and wishes of yourself or a family member before passing away.
The organisation supports the Hospice UK to help plan end of life care effectively, and the service aims to support difficult conversations.
Some of our great Wills and Probate team have been attending various venues across Newcastle-under-Lyme and Stoke-on-Trent this week engaging with the NHS conferences.
Today our Head of Wills and Probate, Juliette Carter was at Haywood Hospital, and on Friday 17th May will be at Intu Potteries, where she will be giving valuable advice on the topic of Wills and Probate, including how to produce your own will.
